Weed, edging, and other shortcuts
The most discussed topic in this whole subject, answered with the actual dose-response evidence rather than a lecture.
Weed is the most discussed thing in this entire subject. More than technique, more than toys, more than anything.
So let's do it properly, with the evidence, and without moralising.
What the research actually found
That's the whole picture in one paragraph, and it explains something the communities can't explain about themselves.
Why guys disagree so violently about this
Ask around and you'll get two confident, contradictory answers. One camp says weed unlocked everything. The other says it ruins their sessions entirely.
Both are probably right. They're just at different doses.
A small amount appears to help with exactly the thing this practice needs: dropping vigilance, stopping the monitoring, getting out of your own way. A large amount does the opposite and takes your ability to come with it.
So it isn't a question of whether. It's how much.
What that means practically
If you use it, use less than you think. The dose that helps is lower than the dose most guys reach for.
Daily use is the one with the clearest downside. That's where the orgasm difficulty shows up in the research, and difficulty reaching orgasm is a bad trade when reaching orgasm is the entire project.
Try some sessions without. Not as a moral position. As an experiment, so you know what your baseline actually is. If every session you've ever had involved weed, you don't know what you can do, you only know what the two of you can do together.
The version of this you'll hear most often goes: relied on it heavily at the start, nearly every session, recommended it to everyone. Then worked deliberately on sober sessions and eventually got to the same place. Note the order. It was a scaffold while learning what to look for, and then it came down.
That's a different thing from needing it, and worth checking which one you're doing. The tell is whether you've tried recently.
Edging
The other big one, and it cuts both ways.
Building arousal helps. That's not controversial and Level 8 is partly about learning to manage it.
Long grinding edging sessions are a different animal.
That's practitioner-reported, not measured. But it lines up with the general principle running through this whole app: intensity and duration are not the levers, and reaching hard for a result is the thing that flattens it.
Porn
Same shape of problem.
It's very effective at building arousal fast, and arousal helps. It also puts your attention on a screen, and this practice is entirely about where your attention is.
You cannot notice a faint internal signal while watching something. That's not a moral claim, it's an attention budget.
The honest summary
None of these are forbidden and we're not going to lecture you.
What all three share is that they're ways of turning the volume up on the outside, and this practice is about hearing something very quiet on the inside. Turn the outside up too far and you can't hear it.
That's the whole argument. Do with it what you like.
