making waves
When it leaves the pelvis
The point sensation stops being local, what a wave actually is, and why this one changes how guys talk about it.
Up to now everything has happened in one place. Somewhere between your rosebud and your pubic bone, and that's it.
At some point it stops staying there.
What guys describe
Warmth or pressure moving outward. Up the belly, down the thighs, into the lower back. Sometimes up the spine and into the chest.
Often it arrives in a rising and falling pattern rather than a steady state, which is why everyone calls them waves. Something builds, peaks somewhere well short of an orgasm, fades, and then does it again.
What it isn't
It's not an orgasm and it's not a near-orgasm. There's usually no urgency to it and no sense of a point of no return.
Several men describe it as pleasant and slightly strange rather than overwhelming, and describe being surprised later at how much further it goes.
If you're waiting to be knocked sideways before you count something as a wave, you'll miss the early ones entirely.
Where they come from
You mostly can't cause one directly. What you can do is set up conditions where they're more likely, and every one of those is something you've already learned:
- Genuinely relaxed, not just still
- Genuinely aroused, sustained rather than spiking
- Not touching your dick
- Not chasing
- Enough time that you've stopped waiting for anything
That last one keeps coming up. Waves rarely turn up in the first ten minutes. They turn up after boredom, which is why the sessions that work are usually longer than the ones that don't.
The mistake at this stage
When a wave arrives, the instinct is to grab it and pull.
Do nothing different. Whatever you were doing when it arrived is the thing that produced it, so keep doing exactly that, including the not-trying part.
Riding one out
When you feel one building:
- Keep breathing. Guys hold their breath here without noticing.
- Keep the pelvic floor slack. It'll want to clench.
- Don't move the toy. Don't add pressure.
- Let your attention be wide rather than pinned on the wave.
Then let it fade. It will. Another one usually follows, and they often get stronger through a session rather than weaker.
What comes next
Waves are the raw material for everything in the last two levels. Sustaining them is Level 9. What they turn into is Level 10.
You don't need to do anything about that yet. Right now the job is to have some, notice them, and not strangle them.
